Universal Healthcare: If They Can Do It, Why Can't We?
Examining the ways other countries achieve universal healthcare can inform how we might improve our own fractured healthcare system, which leaves tens of millions of U.S. residents uninsured and underinsured each year, and ranks at the bottom of developed nations in terms of declining health outcomes and life expectancy.
At our next general meeting, RaisingVoicesUSA will present a special program focused on comparative universal healthcare systems throughout the world.
To aid our exploration, we will be screening segments of PBS/Frontline's Documentary Sick Around the World, which provides an overview of the universal healthcare systems in place in other capitalist democracies world-wide. An interactive discussion and examination of these comparative healthcare systems will follow.
