2020 Election Resources: A Call to Action

2020 in an important year to get involved in helping to GET THE VOTE OUT on November 3rd, 2020. While the need to social distance has made this a bit more challenging for us, it is not impossible to safely become involved to help make EVERY VOTE COUNT. We have comprised a list of organizations where you can find general information about voting and voting rights, as well as some ways that you can get involved writing post cards, text banking and phone banking to get the vote out while still social distancing. The list is not exhaustive so feel free to contact us with organizations that you have been involved with to add to our list.

Please volunteer to take action. Together we can impact the outcome of this important election. Sign up and you will receive all the info and any training you need.

Government Websites

What you can find at government websites: You can find voter registration forms, absentee ballot applications, early voting dates (and locations when determined), registration and ballot  deadlines, election dates and a list of the candidates running for office.

Independent Non-Partisan Organizations

What you can find:  All of these organizations have information about voter registration, absentee ballots and voting rights information, some on a state by state basis. Many of these organizations also have information about how you can get involved in voter registration activities and some offer training about engaging in this activity.

Post Cards and Letter writing

Post card writing and letter writing reaching out to voters both locally and nationwide is an effective way to encourage others to vote. These organization will provide addresses and scripts to use. Some provide post cards. An added plus is that the stamps you buy to mail your postcards and letters support the US Postal Service.

Text Banking

                Text banking allows you to use your cell phone as a tool for reaching out to voters, by texting them information about issues that are important to you, about candidates that you ae supporting or about voting in general. Some organizations that use this method to reach out and educate are:

 

Phone Banking

Phone banking is another way to use your cell phone to reach out to voters. In addition to the sources below, you can reach out to the campaigns of the candidates nationally and locally, that you support and offer to volunteer to phone bank for them.
